Hello, I'm Cecilia Olsson. A Designer & Photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden. With a background in media and communications, digital design and software development. I enjoy creating and improving designs while balancing the users, function and brand. As well as capturing moments with my lens.
My Photography Journey
My photography journey started in 2006 when I received a compact digital camera, and by the end of 2008 I had upgraded to a DSLR. My interest in event photography grew as I documented my brothers baseball games, being able to zoom and properly capture the expressions the players made in their faces and bodies was so much fun.
My event photography journey started in the fall of 2013 when I was asked to photograph a student party in an old shooting range clubhouse in the woods. This opened up an opportunity to photograph official student events at Kårallen and Ryds Herrgård in Linköping. And in 2015 I became a student photographer for Linköping University for a few years.
My Design Journey
My interest in design started as I explored photoshop and as blogs grew popular among friends. I would help my friends to edit their blog designs and play around with the code. In High School I took a few programming courses and is why I ended up studying software development at first. I should have realised sooner than I did. That I was more interested in the design process, the why and reason one made certain design choices. A few summer jobs and an internship in software development that included the need of creating wireframes and making design decisions and even volunteering as a designer in several student associations helped me finally accept this. That is why I ended up studying media and communications before I found digital design.
